However, when the team needed him to play doubles, Sam responded with an excellent team attitude an accepted the challenge. Moreover, he played with great success winning matches at both the region and state tournament levels (although his state match was cut short slightly). He is the epitome of team player. The coaching staff and his teammates thank Sam for his efforts and service. April 10, 2016
“This week, Lawson paced the tigers offensively, hitting safely in 6 of his 8 at bats on the week, with 3 walks, 2 doubles and 2 runs scored. The tigers were 2 and 0 on the week, including a 15 inning game versus Mt. Pisgah, in which Hill threw out 2 runners attempting to steal second base and on three separate occasions, Hill kept wild pitches from getting by him with the go ahead run at 3rd base. Lawson is a key piece to our team in many different ways, but the one area he has truly excelled in this year, is how he has handled one of the best pitching staffs in the state. Our pitchers have great confidence and trust in their pitches when he's behind the plate and that gives great confidence to our coaching staff, that we are going to get quality starts from our pitchers everytime Lawson is catching them.” - Coach McPherson

  • Justin Gerding, Men's Tennis
    March 20, 2016
“Justin and Cullen Teas have played extraordinarily well, peaking at an auspicious moment in the season.  King’s Ridge had three critical matches last week against Pinecrest, Fellowship, and St. Francis.  With several members of the tennis team out, Justin and Cullen shouldered an increased burden with poise and determination.  They went undefeated in all three of their matches.  However, their most impressive victory was the three-set match at Fellowship.  The combo of Gerding and Teas overcame a lack-luster first set to leave little doubt who deserved the athletes of the week, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.” - Coach Butler

  • Jake Owens, Men's Track & Field
    March 20, 2016
“Jake joined the track team after a very successful basketball season.  After just missing the school record in the 800m by less than a second, in last week’s meet, Jack had a great kick in the last 100m and broke the school record.  Jake is one of the hardest working athletes on the track team and because of his work ethic, he has set his second school record.” - Coach Tucker

So proud to have Ellie represent herself, King’s Ridge and Christ on and off the courts!” - Coach Clinton
