The Tigers dropped a three game series to Wesleyan in the second round of the state playoffs. After three back and forth games, the Tigers lost game 3 7-6 on a walk off walk.
King's Ridge won game one 8-3 behind another quality start by Jack Ward. Ward went 5 innings, allowing only four hits and two runs. Alex Armstrong threw the final two innings for the Tigers. Michael Wein led the way for the offense, going 4-4, scoring 2 runs and recording an RBI. Hayden Milling tacked on a home run late to put the game away.
In game 2 of the double header, Wesleyan jumped out to an early lead as the Tiger bats fell silent until a 9 run fourth inning eventually brought them within three. Wesleyan went on to score 3 more, making the final score 15-9. Wein again led the offense, going 3-4 with a home run and 5 RBIs. Carter Buchanan, Hayden Milling, and Will Pittman also recorded multiple hits in the comeback effort.
The final game of the series was a back and forth game. Hayden Milling got the start for the Tiger's, going 5 innings, striking out 3, and allowing 6 runs on 5 hits. Offensively, Will Pittman had a 3 RBI day, including a 2 run home run. Overall 7 Tigers had hits on the day.
The game 3 loss ended a season that saw the Tigers go 20-11, and finish 3rd in region. They also collected series sweeps of rivals St. Francis and Mt. Paran, and defeated their neighbor Cambridge in a non conference game. As the season concludes, many Tigers will collect honors for their work this year.
